Previously used in the countryside, today, the origin of this espadrille is not known. This espadrille was one of Salvador Dali's favorites; he used to come to our shop often during his early painting career and later started to send someone on his behalf once he hit fame. Dalí used to combine them with a suit or a tuxedo.

This type of espadrille was created with the intention of marketing them as comfortable footwear for campers, when the "boom" of camping in France in the 1950s, hence the generic name of the model: "CAMPING".

In the beginning  it was a simple model that barely lasted the season.
